From the duo Matt Brook and Liam O’Brien comes their long standing winemaking project (est 2005). Here’s the last of their wines from Romsey Vineyard, “the owner of the property pulled the vines out a year ago and planted a low maintenance native garden – we’re a bit gutted after all the work we put in but it’s hard to argue with his logic in terms of his personal needs”. Alas. And they worked out their doing stuff a lot too. A shame.
Golden-ish colour. Lovely. Yummy scents, inviting, sweet spice, honey and toasty notes, ripe apple, ginger and lemon balm. Flavors roll supple and rich but fresh, more of the apple, cinnamon, light toastiness and a creamy butteriness upfront that finishes lightly saline and fresh. A generous mouthful in every sip, with balance and good energy. Really lovely.

From the Winemakers
This vineyard is our pride and joy. The good child. The one that is easy to look after, is naturally balance and produces fruit that consistently powerful yet pure.
This year we picked a bit earlier, and then played with a bit of malo and battonage to build weight, flavour and texture - we think it is our best Chardonnnay yet! The long but mild growing season offers it a thrillingly fresh finish. We believe in a classic interpretation of the Chardonnay grape – a wine that is full of flavour and body.
