95 Points, Gary Walsh – tip top tipple, “Such perfume! Rose petal, tea, and orange peel, raspberry, cherry, almond, a dusting of spice. Quiet succulence of ripe red fruits, silky fine powdery tannin grip, freshness and vigour, a fine stony ‘mineral’ feel, lovely flow and finesse, and a long finish that’s all crushed rock and fragrance. Wonderful. A more delicate, dare I say ‘Burgundian’ vintage, and none the worse for that.”

The bouquet is subtle yet complex, red cherry and raspberry fruit with rose petal lift, a hint of liquorice or fennel, crushed mixed herbs, tobacco and just a faint spike of volatility, quite appealing. The palate is delicate and precise, juicy fruit flavours combined with saline minerality, a coil of anise and liquorice spice, all gently bound by a web of filigree tannins, the finish succulent and long.
