2019 Jérôme Arnoux Savagnin 'Authentique' Arbois

The flagship Savagnin from Arnoux. VERY LIMITED. 

94 Points, Mike Bennie (The Wine Front) – “From a traditional producer, a very good one, comes this flor aged savagnin (two and a half years).Quite fine despite the lashings of fino and amontillado overlay, underneath, green apple juice of a hazy nature, ginger-lemon tea, cashew nuts, chalky-minerality and a vein of briny, saline acidity keeping things very energetic and perky. Good length with a finish of ticklish brine, a trail of mixed, salted nuts landing too. It’s got loads of perfume, inviting and intense. The overall feel of finesse with its potency, an approachable wine in its style, per se. Very good drinking and a class example, if not dictionary definition.”

From the superb 2019 vintage, impossibly low yields but superb quality - this is Arnoux's oxidative Savagnin - 30 months in old oak with no topping up.  Old school Jura Savagnin which is grippy, nutty & oh so saline. Ageing potential here of 30 years for the patient ones.
