Vinous (Antonio Galloni) - The 2013 Barolo Baudana opens with striking, beguiling aromatics. Deep, pliant and sensual on the palate, the 2013 exudes fruit intensity to the point the tannins are nearly buried. Intense savory and mineral notes provide an underpinning of virile intensity that builds into the super-expressive finish. The Baudana is a bit creamier and deeper in texture than the Cerretta. (AG).The 2018 Barolo del Comune di La Morra is a classy wine. Floral and nicely lifted, the 2018 is all charm. Crushed red berry fruit, kirsch, spice, mint, cinnamon and orange peel all grace this wonderfully appealing, delicious Barolo from one of La Morra's emerging estate. The Comune has something so many wines lack in 2018: mid-palate pliancy and gorgeous fruit. It is one of the under the radar gems of the vintage.

Gary Walsh, The Wine Front - Tried a bottle of this in July, at the excellent Barolo restaurant ‘Locanda La Gemella’, courtesy of cool dude Claudio Viberti, and thought, here’s a wine that should be imported, and lo and behold, it is now! Great things to come from this producer, I feel. Importer: Beaune & Beyond.

Red fruit, aniseed, spice and a light tea and earthy character. Medium-bodied, frisky and fresh, as is the way with many a 2018, a light grab of dusty and gently gravelly tannin, succulence and perfume, a bergamot character, and a distinct soil-like and mineral character on a red fruit and tobacco finish of good length. Lovely wine. Unforced. Delicious drinking. Excellent.
