In Piedmont winemaking circles Dolcetto is commonly cited as a lunchtime wine and Nebbiolo is for dinner. It’s almost an offensive proposition when you look at a Dolcetto of this quality. Yes, at its price point you can drink it without guilt but it’s also a complex and beguiling wine. The QPR here is incredible.
