2017 Jean-Michel Gaunoux Meursault 1er Cru "Les Perrieres" (MUSEUM RELEASE)
Museum release from the cellar of Jean-Michel Gaunoux - and hailing from one of the great White Burgundy vintages in recent history.
Old vines on rocky limestone with a SE exposure. The power & structure coming from Perrieres (arguably Meursault's greatest site) allows for the use of 15% to 30% new oak without masking all that wet stone minerality so synonymous with this great site.
92-94 Points Neal Martin (Galloni) - "The 2017 Mersault Les Perrieres 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet of apricot blossom, quine, wax resin and light minty aromas, quite complex if just needing a little more mineralite, The palate is very well balanced with a sappy opening that gets the saliva flowing. There is impressive substance here, and a vibrant, energetic finish. Superb." Drink 2020-2038.
