2017 Delsignore Borgofranco Gattinara Riserva

Only produced by Stefano in exceptional years, the Borgofranco Riserva represents the best fruit from Delsingore's Gattinara crus.  

The riserva shares the same DNA as the il Putto Gattinra but with greater intensity, depth and cellaring potential.  

Raised in large old neutral oak before a long rest in bottle before release.

93 Points, MIke Bennie - "Rich and round. Generous and full expression though the finish defies that with its tart, fine boned, elegant tannin completion. Scents of red cherry, ripe plum, tobacco, mocha and dark chocolate. The palate similarly set with choc-liquorice characters and this gummy yet fine pucker going on. Serious red. Deep, mellow, dark. It has charisma but one for fireside drinking."
