95+ Points Gary Walsh, The Wine Front – “Gee, this is a tightly packed, brooding and savoury thing. It’s all damp sweet earth and dried spices, with a dried rose perfume, dark cherries and suede leather.  Full-bodied, black tea and black olives rolled in dried herb, yet I feel it has a latent succulence that will be revealed with bottle age. It’s dense and long, with stokes of emery board tannin pushing through, giving, perhaps for the synaesthetes among us, a pixelation that you can almost visualise. Dutch liquorice in the aftertaste. Serious, but seriously good. The only way is up.” Drink 2022-2033+

Monvigliero is the super cru of Verduno.  From the same vintage and cru that Galloni gave Burlotto's Monvigliero 100 Points.  We don't think this wine is far behind.
