2012 Podere ai Valloni 'Vigna Cristiana' Boca
93 Points, Galloni - "The 2012 Boca Vigna Cristiano is redolent of dried herbs, tobacco, orange peel, cedar, mint and earthy notes. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the 2012 packs a serious punch of acid and tannin that keeps the wine quite fresh considering its age. The Vigna Cristiano is a bit rustic and exotic, but it also speaks eloquently as to the potential of these sites. It is a wine for the adventurous reader." Drink 2022-2032
93 Points, Gary Walsh (The Wine Front) - "Cherry, amaro herbs and orange peel, liquorice root, walnut, camphor. It’s very aromatic, all the perfume of spice and botanicals, medium-bodied, rusty tannin grip, blood orange, dark raspberry and cherry, acidity is cool and lively, and keeps the wine in focus, and the finish is gently bitter, long and dusty. Also has quite a ‘mineral’ character to it. It’s an engaging wine, different, but very good. You have to be open to a more herbal and kind of rustic style mind you, though I am."
